THE SAMARITAN BY JOHN LARA ACT 2 SCENE 3 (PRO-OUSTER TACTICS) This scene comes in the wake of a successfully thwarted ouster motion by Mossi- Oa Tunya and Bembe faction. The vanquished Ted, Seymour and Ramdaye faction decries a more than meets the eye kind of military operation planned by Mossi  to stop the no confidence vote on the floor of the Municipal Chambers. "Street life is dehumanizing."Using illustrations from Rem'y Ngamije's story, "The Neighbourhood Watch," validate this statement .  In Rem'y Ngamije's story, "TheNeighbourhood Watch ", the street families are forced to settle for inadequate and bad food, poor shelter, bad stench, diseases and pessimism. These challenges attempt to derail their humanness.  Firstly, there is inadequate and bad food on the streets.  The Neighbourhood Watch, the ad hoc family on the streets wake up to a chorus of yawns sprinkled with stretching to suggest hunger. With reference to Vrenika Pather's story 'Ninema', write an essay to support this statement .   In Vrenika Pather's story 'Ninema', the character Ninema Ninema successfully comes out as a perfect example of a virtuous woman. Firstly, Ninema is stoic and resilient. She reaps the herbs from her garden as she is a market gardener and she has green fingers as a testament to the fact that she is successful at market gardening. Godwin Siundu (Ed), A Silent Song and other Stories With illustrations from Gloria Mwaniga's " Boyi", write a composition on the effects of war. In Gloria Mwaniga's story "Boyi", from the anthology 'A Silent Song and other Stories", war comes out as monstrous with agonizingly terrible results. It leads to loss of lives, displacement of persons, trauma, radicalisation and and child recruitment into the army. Firstly, war leads to a spate of deaths and killings.  When Matwa Kei, the militia leader, demands that Boyi's father pays a land tax and betrayal tax, he offers boy to him after failing to raise the forty thousand shillings. He does this out of fear that the militia chipped off the heads of whole non-compliant families, carried off their heads and maybe ate them like Idi Amin. The Neighbourhood Watch by Rem'y Ngamije

THE PLIGHT OF STREET FAMILIES Having read and discussed the anthology 'A Silent Song &Other Stories', I strongly opine that  writing and investigative journalism are both the same sides of the coin. A reading of the stories "Cheque Mate" by Kevin Baldeosingh  and "The Neighbourhood Watch" by Rem'y Ngamije affirm this. In 'The Neighbourhood Watch', Ngamije asserts that there are existing street families on the streets. They are not necessarily blood relatives  but they are brought together by the camaraderie spirit to confront the challenges that the streets present.  The family on this story's spotlight has self-styled themselves as 'The Neighbourhood Watch'. The family is made up of Elias, Lazarus, Silas, Omagano- the only female member- and Martin.
